Thought to have some degree of deafness not requiring

Slow response, probably not deaf, but kept under
observation - 9
Mentally subnormal - 1
Of the 25 re-tested after preliminary screening:
10 were premature babies
3 were born to Rh. negative mothers
12 had a family history of deafness or were not
speaking by 2 years of age.
13 babies failed to attend although an appointment had
been accepted
3 children were not taken for further examination after
a doubtful result from the first test
(6 months later of these 16 -
2 had moved out of the area
1 Parent refused
9 premature babies are apparently normal
1 has promised to attend ? deafness
3 still under observation )
