Of the above premises 789 are registered under Section 14 of
the Food and Drugs Act, as follows:-

During the year 5,081 inspections were made of the above
(for details see page 69 ).
In addition, Croydon Airport was visited on 23 occasions to
inspect foodstuffs arriving by air from the Continent. Suct
foodstuffs included Kosher Sausage, Gouda Cheese, Butter and
Delicacies. It was not found necessary to condemn any article.
During the year a proprietor of a fried fish and chip shop
was prosecuted for not keeping his premises, fitments and utensil;
in a clean and sanitary condition. He was fined.£40 with £2. 2s. 0d,
costs.
