During the year the Certifying Medical Officers made examinations
and paid visits to the number of 100 cases. The Mental
Deficiency Visitors paid 3,911 visits. 24 new cases were examined
during 1954 and certified as mentally defective. 10 of these
cases were recommended for the Occupation Centre and 10 were
placed under statutory supervision. 4 were recommended for
institutional care.
