I am pleased to record that there has been close co-operation
between medical and administrative personnel concerned with
the hospital and general practitioner services, and the Health
Department. Any request which I have made has been received
svmpathetically. We are fully conscious of each other's difficulties
and the need for mutual assistance if the best possible
service is to be given to the public. Croydon is fortunate in that
the Group Hospital Management Committee and the Croydon
Executive Council serve, in the main, the residents of the County
Borough area. This important basic advantage towards coordination
of the three divisions of the Health Service would be
valueless without the spirit of goodwill which we fortunately
enjoy.
My thanks are due to the Committee for their help and
encouragement and to the members of my staff for their continued
application to routine duties and many helpful suggestions for
improvements in the working of the Department.
I am,
Yours faithfully,
S. L. WRIGHT,
Medical Officer of Health.
