Marriages.
The number of marriages solemnised was 2,169, compared
with 2,416 in 1947, 2,105 in 1946, 2,268 in 1945, 1,578 in 1944 and
1,574 in 1943. 947 were solemnised in Established Churches, 322
in other places of worship, and 898 in the Register Office. Two
were performed under Jewish ritual.
