when toothache 'intervenes, there is, apparently, still a substantial
section who, while willing to avail themselves of medical
attention, through ignorance or prejudice neglect to take advantage
of existing dental facilities.
The Pre-School Child.
The total of children referred from Welfare Centres and
other sources was .390, compared with 299 in 1944. The further
rise indicated is heartening as the figure thus obtained now
surpasses that of 1938. Treatment for the above children has,
from one cause or another, suffered considerably during the war
"years. It is hoped, however, that, given more normal conditions,
substantial progress will now be possible.
