In addition, accident and other urgent calls were accepted
from other boroughs as follows:—

SERVICES RENDERED BY STAFF AT ACCIDENTS.
On 1,168 occasions First Aid was rendered to injured persons
prior to their removal to hospital.
On 52 occasions Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide were administered
to patients by means of the "Novox Resuscitating
Apparatus."
On 6 occasions persons were certified dead at scene of
accident or illness.
On 38 occasions injured persons were conveyed to hospital,
but were certified dead on arrival.
During the year the Service were called upon to deal with
6 cases of suicide and 19 cases of attempted suicide.
