III.—Action under Statutory Powers during the year:—
A. Proceedings under Sections 9, 10 and 16 of the Housing
Act, 1936: —
(1) Number of dwelling houses in respect of which
notices were served requiring repairs 798
(2) Number of dwelling houses which were rendered fit

C.- Proceedings under Sections 11 and 13 of the Housing
Act, 1936:—

Landlord and Tenant (War Damage) Amendment Act, 1941.
This Act gives the owner or occupier of a house which has
received damage from enemy action, the right to apply to the
local authority for a certificate of fitness following repair. The
standard of repair necessary to merit a certificate is to be such
as will render the house reasonably suitable for housing purposes.
I am the officer appointed to issue such certificates and during the
year 179 applications were made and 156 certificates were granted.
HOUSES LET IN LODGINGS.
There are 12 houses registered and they all suffered seriously
from damage by enemy action, Repairs were completed during
the year.
