One hundred and ninety-eight cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis

on Form A (primary notifications); of these 102 males and 96
females were pulmonary cases; 16 males and 23 females nonpulmonary.
In addition, 73 pulmonary cases and 13 nonpulmonary

The total number of new cases of Tuberculosis coming to
the knowledge of the Medical Officer of Health during the year
1942 by notification or otherwise was 323, as compared with 286

271 of these were cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis, 140 in
males and 131 in females. There were 16 more cases of
Pulmonary Tuberculosis in males and 35 more in females than
in 1941.
There were 21 cases of Non-pulmonary Tuberculosis among
children under 15 years as compared with 29 in 1941. The
number of cases in adults was 31, compared with 37 in 1941.
Of the cases notified in 1942, 14 males and 13 females died
from the Pulmonary form of the disease during the year, equal
to 13.6 per cent. of those notified, and 4 males and 4 females
from the Non-pulmonary form.
The incidence rate of Tuberculosis of all forms was 1.65 per
1,000 of the population; for Pulmonary Tuberculosis 1.39, and
for Non-pulmonary 0.27 per 1,000 population. The notification
rate was 1.21 per 1,000. In 1941 the corresponding figures were
1.55, 1.19, 0.36 and 1.15 per 1,000.
