The process of acquisition of natural immunity seems definitely
to gather speed in children over 7 yearn of age. This is due, so far
as can be ascertained to the effects of numeral doses of infection
j-eceived through contact with carriers. It is an uncontrolled and
risky method of acquiring immunity as such immunity may be
Obtained only by an attack of Diphtheria, with its attendant
dangers.
