Non-Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
This year the greater proportion of new cases of Non-Pulmonary
Tuberculosis occurred in adults, 59.6%, and 40.3% in
children up to 15 years. Of the cases occurring in children, 52%
were in boys; in adults the greater proportion of the cases were
in men—62.1%. 44.4% of the deaths occurred under the age of
10 years compared with 53.3 in 1937.
It will be noted there were no deaths in 1938 from Abdominal
Tuberculosis, no doubt due to the fact that most of the milk distributed
in the borough is pasteurised.
