Tonsillectomy.
Operation reported in 45 cases (28.5 per cent.).
Re-Examinations.
Four hundred and seventy-nine re-inspections were carred
out. In 7 (1.5 per cent.) of these the conditions had become worse;
15 (3.1 per cent.) was considered to be non-rheumatic; 49 (10.2
per cent.) stationary; 207 (43.2 per cent.) were definitely improved;
and 201 (42.0 per cent.) quiescent.
Environment and Other Conditions in Rheumatism Clinic Cases.
Reported in 142 cases.

Wards.—Cases were drawn from all Wards in the Borough with the exception of South.

Housing Conditions—Drainage of Subsoil and Condition of Houses.
One hundred and fourteen of the houses were sufficiently
drained and 20 were well drained ; in 8 drainage was problematical.
Houses which were perfectly dry and did not show any signs
of dampness numbered 57, whilst 72 showed traces of damp; 11
were damp; two houses were specified as very damp.
Aspect.
The aspects of the houses were as follows : —
161 cases reporled.

The bulk of houses in which cases occurred were ordinary
terrace houses (101), 37 were semi-detached, and 3 were detached
hnnses: definite overcrowding was found in two families.
