DENTAL TREATMENT OF MATERNITY AND CHILD
WELFARE PATIENTS.
Three dental officers devote one-eleventh of their time to the
treatment of expectant and nursing mothers and young children.
This small amount of time is inadequate to deal with the large
number of cases awaiting treatment, and in the circumstances it
has been impossible to treat all the cases referred by the medical
officers.
Out of 761 expectant and nursing mothers and young
children referred for treatment 537, or 71 per cent. were actually
treated. This is an improvement on last year, when 52 percent,
were treated.
