During the year, more expectant mothers were treated than
in 1930.
There is a slight decrease in the number of fillings, and extractions
show an increase. This is unfortunately due to the fact that
mothers attending the centres generally have such bad teeth that
conservative treatment is impossible in a large proportion of cases.
Pyorrhoea is very prevalent amongst mothers, and in many
cases is too far advanced to benefit by local treatment.
The reduction in the number of toddlers examined is because
all the centres were not visited during the year. Owing to the
