The control of Bakehouses is dealt with under the Factory
and Workshop Act and the Public Health Act and Croydon
Corporation Act, 1924. For details of Croydon Corporation Act
see under Food Inspection, page

5. Horn*1 Work.
Lists of home workers are sent in twice yearly. 173 of these
lists containing the names of 397 outworkers residing within the
Borough were received from employers during the year. 182
visits were paid to outworkers, and 4 visits were paid to premises
of employers of outworkers to examine lists and for other purposes.
