COUNTY BOROUGH OF CROYDON.
ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
SCHOOL MEDICAL OFFICER.
For the Year Ending December 31st, 1926.
GENERAL.
The following pages contain a summary of the work carried
out in connection with the School Medical Service in Croydon
during 1926. The year has been one of steady adjustment and
growth of activities already in being at the beginning of the year,
rather than of notable extension in any individual fresh direction.
The chief exception to this has been in relation to the prevention
and treatment of crippling conditions, particulars of which are
given in the body of the report, and the dental scheme, which is
developing with astonishing vigour.
In spite of the constantly extending demands on the time of
the staff in other directions, there is evident a general increase in
the work done, as well as in the effectiveness of that work, as compared
with previous vears. Full recognition should be given to
the keen work of medical, dental, nursing and clerical staff, as
well as to the ungrudging help of teachers and of many officers
of the education service, which have made this possible.
H. P. NEWSHOLME,
School Medical Officer.
