DISINFECTION.
The Borough Disinfecting Station is situated in Factory
Lane. Two steam disinfectors (one Washington Lyons and one
Warner) are in use, and the staff consists of five, three of whom
carry out disinfection in the homes (one of whom is also driver of
the motor van used for conveying articles to and from the disinfecting
station), the other two being engaged at the disinfecting
station.
A cleansing station, consisting of reception room, 4 baths, and
waiting room after cleansing, is attached to the disinfecting station,
and is largely used for dealing with verminous conditions and
scabies in school children and others.
