EYE DISEASES.
External eye diseases were present in 42 cases.
549 children had sub-normal vision.
Reference to the ophthalmic specialist of eye cases his been
systematically made when necessary, as in previous years.
TONSILS AND ADENOIDS.
Tonsils were markedly enlarged in 193 cases, and slightly in 246.
145 children were found to have adenoids.
GLANDS.
Glands were markedly enlarged in 174 cases and slightly in 6
All marked tubercular cases have as heretofore been referred
to the Tuberculosis Dispensary for supervision and treatment.
EAR DISEASE.
This was noted in 18 cases, and 26 children suffered from
deafness.
DEFORMITIES.
Curvature of the spine was found in 35 cases. Other deformities
amounted to 63.
AFFECTIONS OF THE HEART were tound in 254 cases.
LUNG DISEASES.
Affections of the lung were found in 207 cases. Of these :
52 children had bronchial catarrh,
142 ,, ,, other conditions of the lung,
13 ,, „ pulmonary tuberculosis.
MENTAL CONDITIONS.
13 children were classified as mentally sub-normal, and 9 as
mentally defective.
