FACTORY AND WORKSHOP ACT, 1901.
The title of this Act is "An Act to consolidate with
amendments the Factory and Workshop Acts."
At the end of the year the number of Factories and
Workshops on the Register numbered 276, which is 13 more
than last year. All Factories, Workshops and Workplaces
are frequently visited, and attention has been paid to maintaining
them in such a condition as to comply with the
requirements of the Act.
During the year 545 inspections were made and in 65 instances,
nuisances or irregularities were found, which were all
remedied. In only 29 cases was it necessary to serve a written
notice.
