OFFENSIVE TRADES.
Only three such trades are now carried on in the Borough, viz.,
one by a knacker and two by a gut-scraper. The premises have
been visited from time to time during the year and found in a
satisfactory condition.
DAIRIES AND COWSHEDS.
There were 36 cowsheds on the register at the end of the year,
of which 34 were in occupation, as against 39 sheds and 34 in
occupation in 1909. The registered cowsheds provide accommodation
for 603 cows with 800 cubic feet per head. The number of
cows in the registered sheds in December was 459.
The number of Cowkeepers in the Borough is now 23, as compared
with 27 in 1909.
During the year 45 dairies were removed from, and 77 added to
the register, leaving 300 on the register at the end of the year.
Four applications for registration were refused, as the premises
were unsuitable.
Twenty-two notices were served during the year for various
matters requiring attention on the premises of dairymen, all of
which were complied with at the end of the year.
ICE CREAM VENDORS.
All premises where ice cream was known to be made were
regularly visited during the season. All were found in a fairly
satisfactory condition. On one oecasion only was it found necessary
to serve notice during the year.
