It will be observed that the interval between the discharge of the
patient and the onset of the return case varied from two days to 99
days and in 40 instances was more than 14 days.
EPIDEMIC INFLUENZA
was the assigned cause of death in 25 instances, as compared with
59 in 1909.
WHOOPING COUGH
accounted for 20 deaths, 19 of which occurred in children under
five years of age. The number of deaths is smaller than in 1909, when
30 were registered. The number of cases is unknown, but was in all
probability smaller than in the previous year, as 474 school notices
were issued in reference this disease as compared with 654 in 1909.
DIPHTHERIA AND MEMBRANOUS CROUP.
The number of cases notified amounted to 267 as compared with
356 in 1909, while 21 cases terminated fatally, as compared with 24
deaths in 1909.
