From the Registrar General's Annual Summary for 1910 it is
seen that Croydon maintains its position at the head of what were
the 33 great towns. But several of the other 76 towns present a
considerably lower figuie than Croydon.

be multiplied in order to correct for differences of age and sex constitution of
population.
† The Comparative Mortality Figure represents the corrected Death.rate in each
town compared with the death.rate at all ages in England and Wales during 1910,
the latter being taken as 1,000.
†For the years 1905.9 the group of Great Towns consists of 76 towns, the
Factor for Correction for England and Wales less the 76 Great Towns being 09652
and that for the 76 Great Towns 10621.
