The birth rate for the entire District was 25.8, as
compared with 24.6 in 1907, 26.7 in 1906, 25.7 in
1905, 27.3 in 1904, and 28.2 in 1903.
The birth rate in England and Wales in 1908 was
26.5 per thousand of the population, which is 0.2 per
