The following is a summary of the work done under this Act
in Croydon during 1905.
FACTORIES. —For the most part, the law relating to Factories
is administered by the Home Office. 129 visits were, however, made
to Factories, 122 being in reference to sanitary accommodation, five
in reference to a complaint at a steam laundry, and one in reference
to a manure receptacle. All the defects noted were remedied during
the year.
WORKSHOPS.—The number of workshops on the register, the
various trades carried on therein, the number of workpeople
employed, and the number of visits paid by the Inspector, are
shown in Table VIII.
