HEALTH REPORT
of the
Croydon Rural District,
1897.
To the Members of the Croydon Rural District
Council.
I have the honour to present the Annual Health Report
and Statistical Tables for the year 1897, accordance with
the Orders of the Local Government Board.
The general death-rate for the year was very low, namely,
11.6 per 1,000 persons living. There was, however, a considerable
prevalence of scarlet fever in parts of the District,
and an unusually large mortality from diarrhoea.
The water supply of the District has been specially
alluded to in the report, and also some points in connection
with the housing of the working classes.
