During the year Crayford Sluice partially collapsed and a scheme for the
reconstruction of this sluice was put forward This has now been approved and
reconstruction started on March 12th The collapse of this sluice was in part
due to hooligans who wedged the tide flap open and caused some flooding on
the marsh
