Particular attention has been given to ice-cream premises, of which
only 4 are now used for manufacturing purposes, the remainder being
vendors only.
Section 14 of the Food and Drugs Act relating to the registration of
certain food premises is not in force in the District but similar provisions
obtain in the Coulsdon & Purley U.D.C. Act, 1937. An application
made by an owner for the registration under the local Act of premises
for the purpose of frying fish was refused on the grounds of the unsuitability
of the premises.
An Appeal to the Magistrate's Court was dismissed and the Council's
decision upheld.
