INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk.
During the year 66 samples of milk were submitted for bacteriological
and microscopical examinations, and of these 8 were also submitted
to biological examination.
Eight of the samples proved unsatisfactory bacteriologically or
microscopically, and the producers or retailers were immediately
informed. Repeat samples were taken and usually showed improvement,
but in some cases more than one repeat sample was necessary.
