Regular Clinics for out-patients are held as follow:—
General Medicine, Diabetic, Diseases of the Chest, Dermatology,
Physical Medicine, Ear, Nose and Throat, Neurology,
General Surgery, Infertility and Birth Control, Paediatric,
Ophthalmic Surgery, Orthopaedic and Traumatic Surgery,
Psychiatry, Gynaecology, Orthodontic and Dental Surgery.
The Control of Infection Committee, on which I am
represented, continued to function. It was necessary on one
occasion during the latter part of the year, to close a ward due to
the inadvertent admission of a child, later found to be suffering
from an infection.
The year was noteworthy for the commencement of work in
connection with the new hospital building. The first part of the
roadworks for the residential accommodation was commenced on
20th August, 1962, and was completed on 21st December. The
commencement of building of the resident accommodation will be
on 11th February, 1963, with completion date 10th November,
1964. The building of the maternity department has been brought
forward. This should commence immediately following the
completion of the resident accommodation and is to be completed
by 31st March, 1966. The building of the main hospital should
commence in April, 1966.
Cray Valley Hospital.
Provides a general hospital service with the following beds:—
Maternity 10
Medical 10
Surgical 11
"Section 5" 1
Unclassified 3
Sidcup Cottage Hospital.
A general practitioner hospital with:—
Medical 11
"Section 4" 1
"Section 5" 1
A Physical Medicine clinic is held once each week in the
evening.
