Once again I am pleased to be able to report a complete
absence of this disease in the Urban District during 1959.
The County Medical Officer informs me that of the children
resident in the area who were born since 1945, a total of 1,126
received primary inoculations and 667 received re-inforcing
inoculations during 1959.
A total of 17,889 children under the age of fifteen years on
31st December, 1959, have completed a course of immunisation at
some time prior to that date.
Dysentery.
Ten cases were notified as against twelve in the previous year.
Food Poisoning.
A total of twenty-seven confirmed cases of food poisoning
occurred in the area during 1959, as against twelve in the previous
