Public Conveniences.
The Health Department was responsible for the cleansing of
nine Public Conveniences during the year, at St. Johns Road,
Sidcup Park Place, Queens Head, Willersley Park, Tigers Head,
Waring Park, West Chislehurst Sports Ground, Longlands
Recreation Ground, and the Glade, Lamorbey Park.
Public Mortuary.
There were one hundred and thirteen bodies received in the
public mortuary during the year, and twenty-two post mortem
examinations Derformed.
National Assistance Act, 1948.
There was one case of compulsory removal under Section
47(3) of the National Assistance Act, 1948. The case was that of
an elderly man " being aged and infirm and living in insanitary
conditions and unable to devote to himself or receiving from
other persons proper care and attention." An order was made
by the Magistrate's Court for a period not exceeding three
months. The man in question was removed to Lynton Hospital,
Coxheath, near Maidstone, and, as far as we are aware, is still
there.
