WATER SUPPLY.
This District is supplied with water from the mains of the
Metropolitan Water Board.
The supply of water has been both satisfactory in quantity
and quality, and there appears to be no risk of plumbosolvency.
Approximately 99 9 per cent of the total population are
supplied with water by the public mains. No houses are
supplied from public stand pipes.
During the year 47 samples of main water were submitted
for examination by the Public Health Department, and in
all cases was found to be satisfactory.
In addition, 48 samples from wells, etc., all proved to be
satisfactory.
HOUSE REFUSE COLLECTION.
Owing to the shortage of labour the fortnightly collection
of house refuse has met with considerable difficulty.
