URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL OF
. CHISLEHURST AND SIDCUP
The Urban District Council of Chislehurst and Sidcup
was constituted under the Kent County Review Order, 1934,
and came into existence on the 1st April, 1934.
VITAL STATISTICS.
Births.—During the year 1,075 Births were registered as
belonging to the District, of which number 563 were males
and 512 were females. This gives a Birth Rate of 17.8 per
thousand of population, as compared with 18.1 last year.
Deaths.—The number of deaths registered during the
year as belonging to this District was 606 (314 males and
292 females), the Death Rate for the year being 10.0 per
thousand of population, as against 9.7 last year.
Infant Deaths.—During the year 39 deaths were registered
as occurring in Infants under one year of age. Of
these, 37 occurred in legitimate and 2 in illegitimate infants.
The Infantile Mortality Rate for the year was 36 per
thousand registered births.

INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The year has been a fairly satisfactory one from the point
of incidence of Infectious Disease. The number of notification
certificates received was 1,603, as compared with 835
last year. This increase is mainly due to a larger number
of cases of Scarlet Fever and Measles being notified.
