Urban District Council of Chislehurst and
Sidcup
HEALTH REPORT FOR 1940.
The Urban District of Chislehurst and Sidcup was constituted
under the Kent County Review Order, 1934. and came
into existence on the 1st April, 1934.
VITAL STATISTICS.
Births.—The number of Births registered during the year
as belonging to this District was 1,018, of which number 557
were males and 461 were females. This gives an Annual
Birth Rate of 15.9 per thousand of population.
Deaths.—During the year 659 Deaths of persons belonging
to this District were registered, the Death Rate for the year
being 10.3 per thousand of population.
Infant Deaths.—The number of Deaths registered as
occurring in infants under one year of age was 46. The
Infantile Mortality Rate for the year was 44 per thousand
registered births.
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The year 1940 was a satisfactory one from the point of view
of incidence of Infectious Disease.
The number of cases notified, together with the number
removed to hospital and the total deaths registered, is shown
in the following Table:
