INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The year has been an exceedingly satisfactory one from the
point of view of incidence of Infectious Disease, no epidemic of
any consequence arising; and compares very favourably even with
the low figures of 1924.
During the year 19 Certificates of Notification of Infectious
Disease were received, which comprised:-
Scarlet Fever 13 Encephalitis Lethargica 1
Diphtheria 2 Acute Poliomyelitis Nil
Typhoid Fever Nil Cerebro-spinal Fever Nil
Puerperal Fever Nil Erysipelas 1
Pneumonia 1 Malaria 1
Ophthalmia Neonatorum Nil

Scarlet Fever.—A similar number of cases of Scarlet Fever
were notified as occurred last year, viz., 13. Twelve cases were
removed to the Isolation Hospital. There were no deaths from
this complaint.
The monthly incidence of the cases of Scarlet Fever was :
