Causes of Deaths
The deaths in 1925 included:—
Pulmonary Tuberculosis 4 Bronchitis 9
Other Tuberculous Diseases 2 Heart Disease 18
Cancer 12
Influenza 1 Nephritis 2
Pneumonia 4
Zymotic Death Rate.
The Zymotic Death Rate is a term commonly applied to the
rates of deaths from the seven principal Zymotic complaints:—
Small Pox, Scarlet Fever, Measles, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough,
Diarrhoea, and "Fever," which latter term includes Typhus,
Typhoid (or Enteric) and Paratyphoid Fever.
Two deaths were registered as occurring from these complaints
during the year, giving a Zymotic death rate of 0.2 per
1000 of population.
Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
Four deaths were registered as occurring from Tuberculosis
of the Lungs (Consumption or "Phthisis"). This is equal to a
death rate of 0.4 per thousand of population.
Other Respiratory Diseases.
During the year 14 deaths were registered from other
diseases of the respiratory system. This gives a death rate of
1.5 per thousand of population.
Cancer.
The number of deaths registered as occurring from Cancer
("Malignant Disease") was 12, giving a death rate of 1.3 per
thousand of population.
