BROMLEY RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL.
GENTLEMEN,
I have the honour to pres.ent to you my Annual Report for the
year ending 31st December, 1911.
Infectious Disease. During the year twenty-four cases of Infectious
Disease were notified, namely:—Scarlet Fever, 4; Diphtheria,
10; Typhoid Fever, 2; Erysipelas, 8; being a decrease of thirteen
as compared with the previous year, and the lowest number
of cases occurring in one year, during the past 16 years.
The cases occurred in the respective Parishes as follows:—
Orpington, 8; St. Mary Cray, 2; North Cray, 2; St. Paul's Cray, 7;
Mottingham, 5.
The Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, and Typhoid Fever cases were
removed to the Isolation Hospital. The houses or parts of houses
were disinfected immediately after the cases were removed, and in
no instance did the disease spread outside the house where it originated.
Complaints. A large number of complaints were received relating
to nuisances from various causes. Fifteen hundred inspections
were made, and 358 nuisances dealt with.
Drainage. The drains in connection with fifty-eight houses were
examined and tested, and it was found necessary to take out and
relay the drains at thirty-seven houses.
