Following the report of a number of dead fish in Danson Park lake, bacteriological samples
of the water were obtained for examination as part of the investigation. No unusual results were
obtained but the use of the lake for recreation was suspended for a few days. It was ascertained
that the fish had in fact died as a result of a parasitic infection. A concurrent inspection of the
local surface water drainage system revealed two defects which were rectified.
