SPECIAL EXAMINATIONS
The following special examinations were carried out, either at school or at a clinic. These figures
include assessments, employment examinations, clearance certificates before returning to residential
schools, etc.

EXAMINATIONS UNDER SECTION 57 OF THE EDUCATION ACT
The number of children examined under Section 57 of the Education Act and found to be
unsuitable for education in school was as follows : —

CLEANLINESS
The incidence of head infestation has continued to decline and the following table gives the
number of inspections carried out and the number of infestations found

In addition to the above, during 1965 one case of ringworm of the body and 16 cases of other
skin diseases were treated at the school clinics. In 1966 one case of skin disease was treated at a
clinic before this form of treatment was discontinued at the clinics, patients being referred to
General Practitioners or local hospitals.
