The high standard of the Physical Education in the
Borough's schools was brought home to the public in
striking fashion when in the summer of 1949 a team of
girls from the County Technical School was selected to
represent English Secondary Schools at the Lingiad at
Stockholm.
Swimming.
During the year 1949 schools in the Borough again
took advantage of the facilities available for swimming.
Twelve Primary departments and seven Secondary
departments used the Charlton Park, Eltham Park,
Plumstead and Danson Baths. A total of 416 swimming
certificates were issued during the year.
