REPORT OP THE DISTRICT OFFICER
The following report has "been submitted by Mr, C.J* Moore, District
Officer, for which I express my thanks.
"The year under review showed a steady increase in the volume of the
work of the District Office.
During the year 163 applications were received for admission to
Part III Accommodation, as against 121 in tho previous year, and of
these 61 persons were placed in County Establishments and 18 in homes
provided by voluntary organisations.
Referring to the final paragraph of my report for 1963, there
was a further increase in the number of issues of nursing aids and
aids for the handicapped, The number of aids out on loan in the
district at the end of 1963 was 26, and at the end of 1964 was 58.
In August- a further service was undertaken by the District Officer,
This was the follow up of the patients discharged home from the
geriatric units. This included the arrangement of the appropriate
domiciliary statutory and voluntary services, together with general
welfare supervision. During the period from August to the end of
the year, 23 patients were referred,"
REPORT OF HOME HELP ORGANISER.
My thanks are duo to Miss Hocking and Mrs. Thompson for the report
on this service for the Beckenham and Penge Area.
"Demand for the service continued steadily during 1964.
Approximately 1,1.-0 cases per week received assistance and
634 new cases were given service during the year.
Fifteen families were given service under the Family Care Scheme,
but no Family Welfare Service was given during the year.
Two cases received evening service.
