Certain samples were found to be inferior or adulterated, and there follows details of the action taken in each case:—

Pasteurised Processed Cheese | Deficient in fat. Incorrectly labelled as processed cheese. | The Manufacturers' attention having been drawn to the matter, it was agreed that the product should in future be labelled as Cheese Spread. |
Creamed Rice | Labelling incorrect in that sample contained a deficient amount of full cream milk. | The Manufacturers agreed substantially to increase the full cream content of the milk. |
Non-Poison Chlorodyne | Should not be described as Chlorodyne for reason that it does not agree with the constituents of chlorodyne as defined in the British Pharmacopoeia. | Matter referred to British Pharmaceutical Society. Obtained the co-operation of the Manufacturers, who agreed to withdraw the product from the market. |
Ground Sweet Almonds | Probably consisted of Peach kernels. | Further action unable to be taken, as whole of consignment from which sample was taken had been sold. Matter brought to the attention of the Importers. |
Salmon Cutleis | Not Salmon: probably Coal fish. | Processors informed, who agreed to alter labelling of the product. |
Margarine (with 10% butter) | Labelling incorrect in that it only contained 4.8% butter. | Subsequent samples were found to be satisfactory. |
