39 sessions were held, and on all of these the Surgeon put in
an extra half-session, making three instead of two hours. The
average attendance over the sessions was 28-88, which compares
with 26-8 last year, and shows that the extra sessions are necessary.

DENTAL REPORT, 1938.
To the Chairman and Members of the Education Committee.
I have the honour to present the Dental Report of the inspection
and treatment of the scholars in the Elementary Schools.
In July, 1938, Dr. A. J. Wynne, of the Board of Education,
made a survey of a number of children in the Borough. The objects of
that survey and the results of it, are included in the Board of
Education's Report, "The Health of the School Child," for 1937.
This survey contains information regarding the results of systematic
dental treatment in the Borough, and I feel sure it would be of interest
to the Education Committee ; I am therefore including it in this
annual report:—
A Comparison of the Dental Condition of Children
in two Areas.
"For some years past these Reports have recorded that the only
two Authorities which had no school dental scheme were Falmouth
and the Isles of Scilly. Because of its scattered character and
geographical situation, the latter Authority is in a less favourable
position than any other for organising such a scheme, but during
the past year Falmouth decided to initiate arrangements for the
dental inspection and treatment of school children. Prior to these
arrangements being put into operation it was decided that an officer
