NERVOUS SYSTEM.
Epilepsy.—One girl was discovered at the Routine Inspections
who gave a history of epileptic fits. The fits occur at long intervals,
and so far they have not interfered with her attendance at school.
Chorea.—Seven children were suffering from this disease, and
five were excluded from School for varying periods. Of these, three
had in-patient treatment in hospital and are reported cured. One
is attending the German Hospital in Eondon and is still excluded
from school, one is in a Poor Law Convalescent Home, and two
cases where the symptoms were very mild are attending school
and are under observation through the Clinic.
The danger of heart complications makes this a grave disease
in children, and in two of the seven cases of organic heart disease
previously reported the heart lesion was due to this disease.

Forty-one children presented deformities or defects as follows:—
Chest 25
Paralysis 5

The children with defects or poor development of the chest arc
given special physical exercises both at school and at home.
