DISEASES OF THE EAR.
Defective Hearing.—The hearing was found to be impaired in
15 children, and the defect was due to (a) accumulation of wax in
the ear in two cases, the wax was removed at the treatment clinic,
(b) enlarged Tonsils and/or Adenoids in nine cases—three of these
have been cured by operation under the Committee's scheme, four

nothing has been done owing to the objection of the parents;

cases the condition persists. In 5 cases the Tonsils and/or Adenoids
were removed with good results. In the remaining 10 cases there
is no improvement, 5 are having treatment at home, 2 are carrying
out breathing exercises, and in 3 no treatment has been obtained.
