One bundled and forty-one attended for extractions under
nitrous oxide (gas), and in only three cases did the parents refuse
gas extractions.
I am indebted to Dr. Curtis for his valuable assistance in
administering the nitrous oxide.
I have made a strong point of impressing on the children, both
at school and at the Clinic, the importance of cleanliness of the
mouth, and where opportunity offers I have a short talk with the
parents also.
I have included in the report the statistics required by the Board
of Education, and also a summary of the monthly reports already
furnished to the Committee.
From the latter the following average work per Session can be
obtained: —
7.9 children attended per Session.
6.3 Fillings completed per Session.
5.3 Extractions per Session.
1.8 Dressings per Session.
These figures will compare very favourably with that of any
other single-handed Dental Officer.
I wish to express my gratitude to Dr. J. M. Clements for his
help and advice during the first year, and to the Heads of Departments
in the Schools for the assistance they give and the interest
they take in the dental work.
