LABORATORY WORK.
There is a Laboratory in the Health Department and the following Table sets out the work done in it during the year:—

A supply of Diphtheria Anti-toxin is kept at the Health Department
and is given free of charge to doctors for use in Diphtheria.
During the year 54,000 units of Anti-toxin were used, 42,000 for
curative and 12,000 for prophylactic purposes.
Anti-streptococcic serum and Influenza vaccine are also kept in
stock at the Health Department and are available free of charge to
doctors.
