4. FOLLOWING UP.
Much valuable work has been done by Health
Visitors and School Nurses in this direction and every case.
where treatment is offered and not taken advantage of, is
followed up in an endeavour to get such treatment carried out.
In the period under review School Nurses and Health Visitors
paid no less than 4,672 visits to homes against 3,800 in 1941.
5. MEDICAL INSPECTION.
During the year 1942, inspections have been
carried out at each school.
(a) Routine Medical Inspections.
Number of Inspections in the prescribed Groups show an
increase of 914 over and above that of 1941:—

In this category the Special Inspection
figure shows an increase of 3,783 children re-inspected
over the number in the previous year.

These mainly consist of children examined in
Minor Ailment Clinics to which they were referred following
the discovery of defects at School Medical Inspections.
