Vital Statistics.
THE DEATH RATE.
The nett death rate for the year is 12.4 of the estimated
population. This rate is not so low as last year, but taking
the various items which have combined to make the year
under review less healthy than the preceding one, I think the
result is excellent. The gradual increase in persons dying out of
the district on account of illness is worth remark. There were
53 during the year.
The total number of deaths was 376, the average number for
the 10 years, 1898—1907, being between 370 and 380.
