Measles.
No serious epidemic has visited the town for several years.
No Schools or portion thereof have been closed. I am more than
ever convinced that it is unnecessary to exclude children in the
upper standards from school where their younger brothers or
sisters have contracted the disease.
Number of deaths, 9.
Rate per 1,000 of the estimated population, 3.
Whooping Cough.
Very little of this disease has been notified during the year.
Four deaths only have been registered.
Death rate per 1,000 of the estimated population, 13.
Erysipelas.
One death has been registered from this disease and 29 cases
notified.
Puerperal Fever.
One case only has been notified, and not one death. Considering
there were over 900 births this record seems to me very good
indeed.
